“Pakistan floods are ‘a monsoon on steroids”
~ UN Chief ~
Pakistan is drowning. The worst natural disaster in the country’s history has led to the internal displacement of over 33 million people, and killed over 1,000. They need food, clean water, and shelter.
Pakistan has the world’s sixth-largest population and is a significant regional power. However, 20.5 percent of its population is undernourished, with 82 percent of children deprived of daily, nutritious meals. The average Pakistani household spends over 50 percent of its income on food, making them vulnerable to changes in food prices. This limits their resources for other essential items, such as clothing and medicine.
